....The Mai Kunu-Ngbati Alliance From 1817 Till The Present And The Scramble for Nigeria Under Bad Loser Muhammadu Buhari
(Part One)
Ethnicist/Regionalist Muhammadu Buhari contested to rule Nigeria whilst being a Co-Patron of the regional assembly Arewa Consultative Forum with four other former Heads of State/Presidents such as Yakubu Gowon, Shehu Shagari, Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Atiku Abubakar...do you think an arch ethnicist/regionalist/religious bigot like Buhari will be fair to all Nigerians? But why was his candidature not voided when it is well known he is a highly partisan and divisive figure?
There is no gainsaying the fact that terrorism is a very complex, constantly evolving phenomenon with varying procedures and targets. It is dangerous to confine the inventiveness of man or of extremists. Terrorism basks on the duality of surprise and near unpredictability. Hindsight tells us that several terrorist incidents could have been pre-empted and frustrated if the security agencies had been able to forecast probable scenarios and left no stone unturned in forestalling such. While this essay is not strictly in the realm of ‘terrorism futures’ - a scientific approach that analyses, discerns or models the probability, modus operandi of terrorism; it is nonetheless aimed at (a) extrapolating plausible scenarios or maneuver that Boko Haram may adopt as the sect re-strategizes in the face of the current onslaught against it and (b) nudging Nigerian military strategists, security agencies and policy makers not to relapse, but rather to be proactive, think the unthinkable and up their game to avert unpleasant surprises or "failure of imagination" as some liken the September 11 terrorist attack where the “dots were not connected†prior to the terrorist incident.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

Free, fair and peaceful election are requisites of a democratic society through which citizens cast their votes to usher in a particular political party or politicians of their choice based on the convictions of the electorate. This ideal situation is far-fetched in many evolving democracies such as Nigeria where pre- and post-election violence stifles the very cornerstone of democracy: freedom of choice, civic participation, accountability, rule of law and trust in state officials and institutions.

Against all odds, the 2015 Presidential election initially billed for February 14, but rescheduled to March 28, has come and gone. General Muhammadu Buhari, the APC candidate secured a total of 15,424,921 million votes (53.95%) to defeat incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan who garnered 12,853,162 votes (44.96%). Wall Street Journal says, "Buhari’s upset of incumbent President is arguably the most consequential political event in Africa in the last decadeâ€.
The unremitting frequency of fire outbreaks in Nigeria is no doubt very distressing, especially during the harmattan season. Earlier this year, Heritage Mall Ibadan and a section of the Sam Mbakwe Cargo airport in Imo State were gutted by fire, resulting in flight delays and cancellations. Recently, multiple fire incidents engulfed two markets in Lagos - the popular Balogun and Okobaba Plank markets. Also in Lagos State, fire outbreaks took place in Marina (500 Shops were razed), at a warehouse in Mosheshe Industrial Estate, Kirikiri, and in Sabo Yaba. At the time of writing this piece, Lagos State witnessed more than 15 fire outbreaks within 72 hours in the second week of January 2015.

Envisage Nigeria in the mould of a profit-oriented business concern where the CEO headhunts, assigns specific tasks to the staff. Staffer boasts s/he will deliver results within record time but several months, even years down the line, geezer starts finger pointing and buck passing. In the aforementioned context, a typical CEO wastes no time before firing, replacing such flippant employee(s).
Introduction
For the interest of the uninitiated and to further appreciate the subject, a definition and brief introduction suffices. Simply put, a foundry is an industrial unit where metal castings are produced, usually in large quantities. The process basically involves casting metals into desired shapes by melting them in a furnace (generally at very high temperatures) and by pouring the metal into a mold and removing the mold material or casting after the metal must have solidified as it cools. Two major types of foundries are: jobbing foundry and captive foundry. The first is a foundry that creates a wide variety of castings, in small quantities for a range of customers. The second type i.e. captive foundry is a foundry that that is wholly incorporated into a larger manufacturing operation. Captive foundry only produces castings for the operation that it is a part of. Commonly processed metals include : aluminum, cast iron, bronze, brass, steel, magnesium, zinc etc.

Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd) succeeded late Lt. Gen. Patrick Azazi as Nigeria's National Security Adviser in June 2012. After nearly two years of painstakingly reappraising the Boko Haram miasma, he recently unveiled a 'Soft Approach' towards combating terrorism in Nigeria. The NSA proceeded to say, "my approach has been to understand the problem in order to apply the appropriate solutions. What we have learned is that there is not any particular path that leads to terrorism. Rather there are many, often complicated, paths that lead to terrorism". According to Dasuki, "the strategy would complement, not replace, military efforts to fight the Boko Hiram Sect. He continues, 'the Soft Approach will encompass de-radicalization of terrorists and revamping economy of Northern States'. He reeled out Poverty, social injustice, isolation and sectarianism amongst the factors causing terrorism and Insurgency in Nigeria.
Introduction
The unrelenting insecurity, terrorism/insurgency miasma in Nigeria is disturbing. Innocent people are arbitrarily hacked to death, the issue is talked about for a few days, a Committee/Panel is assembled and the whole episode fizzles out sooner than later. Terrorism/Insurgency and insecurity has taken a big toll on innocent lives, public infrastructures and Nigeria’s economy. A recent report suggests Nigeria’s military campaign against terrorism and insurgency may have gulped over N1 trillion. Caging Boko Haram has hitherto proved cagey due to the unconventional (Guerrilla-war nature) of their operation with a trend towards ‘Lone Wolf’ terrorism - maximizing the use of surprise, terror  by a loose network of individuals or groups sympathetic to a common cause. The potency of terrorism is essentially psychological; terrorists know they cannot win the war so they attempt to make the price of their antagonist’s victory exorbitant.
