Sailors and Royal Marines who organised the King’s Coronation and revolutionised the way the Service uses tech have been singled out in the New Year’s Honours.
Twenty-three full-time and Reservist personnel face a trip to the Palace for investitures from knighthood to the King’s Volunteer Reserve Medal.
Described as the “principal driving force” behind the Royal Navy’s contribution to the May’s Coronation of His Majesty The King, Commander Trefor Fox – based at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth – is made an OBE.
Some 900 personnel from across the Naval Service were mustered either to take part directly in ceremonial events or support the huge security effort shielding the largest State Ceremonial Event since 1953.
Cdr Fox, who is based at the Navy’s headquarters in Portsmouth, was “at the epicentre of every aspect of planning” of the Navy’s involvement from arranging transport plans and training to supporting rehearsals – balancing the requirements to support the Coronation with the need to maintain training and front-line operations.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has shown the world once again that it is an endless nightmare. Never-ending violence, carnage, and barbarism. Israel is a legitimate state recognized by international law. It is, in its modern form, the child of the UN. It came into existence in 1948 as a result of the 1947 Partition Plan instigated by the UN where there was to be a Jewish state and a Palestinian one. The Jews accepted it. The Arabs rejected it, although a small minority of them, such as King Abdullah of Jordan who was the grandfather of King Hussein, accepted it. He was later assassinated for his wise stance. Neighbouring Arabic-speaking states subsequently launched a war on Israel and lost. This started a long series of conflicts in which those states mostly fuelled the fires of war and confrontation.

Puppetism and Marionetism – ECOWAS, Self-interest and the Problematization of non-Problems
The ongoing ‘war’, the unnecessary abrasive, arrogance, and infantile jaw-jaw is on the one hand with revolutionary forces versus puppets and marionettes that have been teleguided in the past by postcolonial-neocolonial apostles who till the very present are still being so teleguided; and on the other hand, it is a ‘war’ between Putinism/Authoritarianism and Westernism/Democracy and the rule of law.
(And) due to the lack of visionaries, mature, reflective, conscientious and Africancentric leadership amongst the present crop of Western puns that abound in West African governance, which of course, is responsible for the current epidemic of coups and terror activities, wrong foot was put forward in the ongoing negotiation between the ECOWAS leadership/their Western masters who are pulling the strings from the background, and the junta; and by the reckoning of this writer, it is akin to a motor park-bolekaja diplomacy, and amounts to otunu (Yala, for push fight or agent provocateurs) and militaristic sort of doing political business or deals, hence the art and science of cool or level-headed dialogue/diplomacy was thrown overboard for political gangsterism, infantilism, rascality, brinkmanship and mindless jagabanism.
Also, turning Niger Republic into a sort of regional Mecca is simply not only time-wasting and energy sapping, but an exercise in the worst form of infantilism, reducing pre-eminent persons in the region such as former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, Brigadier General Sa’adu Mohammed Abubakar IV, that very, very retrogressive Sultan of the modern world; SLS (Sanusi Lamido Sanusi) and the notable Islamic clerics – the Ulammas to mere jokers, idle errand boys and a sort of Ajala or regional troubadours from Nigeria.
WHY ARE TINUBU AND HIS DIPLOMATIC EMMISARIES FROM NIGERIA SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE COUP IN NIGER – BECAUSE OF THE “BRETHREN”, THEIR BUSINESS INTEREST IN THE REPUBLIC OF NIGER; OR FROM BAT, A PLOY FOR POLITICAL DIVERSION FROM THE REALITIES AT HOME, MORE SO, WHEN IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE AN ALL-ECOWAS MATTER?
What I can’t understand is, the matter at hand is supposed to be a matter for all ECOWAS, and if this is the case, as it truly is, the question then is, why has it been stupidly Nigerianised, and by so doing, reduce our country to an American Alsatian dogs that can bark, but cannot bite or a mere kitten licking ice cream, and by extension, the Nigerian fifle as mere jokers or a sort of la la nla from the Republic of Lalala?
Having so much to write on this subject matter but due to time constraint, and since the yunta (junta) has proposed a three-year gradual transition to the so-called democratically elected Government, it is thus, not hard for the discerning mind that the matter at hand has been reduced to a sort of haggling and bargaining scenario between an akuya owner and a customer at Kano or Sokoto market which no doubt requires a dexterous negotiation by persons well versed in the art and science of human face and conscientious diplomacy.
THE ONGOING EUROCLYDON: ECOWAS MUST NOT FALL …. ALL AFRICA MUST NOT ALLOW ARROGANT WEST TO LIBYANISED NIGER OR ANY PART OF THE CONTINENT ANYMORE - AND ALL FRENCH PUPPETS AND COLONIES IN AFRICA MUST BE SACKED AND DISMANTLED BY DECEMBER 31ST, 2023….I DECREE THIS BY OUR ANCESTORS!

And instead of grandstanding and their unnecessary agberoic braggadocio, the ball is now in the court, not of Nigerians nor those with vested self-interest from the West, but ECOWAS as a body, representing all the West African states and their people to return to the negotiating table with General Abdourahmane Tchiani and his gang acting on behalf of Putin and his Russia/Wagner and make their own reasonable offer for (a) reasonable adjustment/s, cutting down or better to say, propose a 6-month transition period during which an election will be held to usher in a new democratically elected Government as desired by the Nigeriens themselves and not by any external forces/meddlers; or if the proposed six months is not acceptable to the yoonta (junta), then a year could be proposed, and if still not okay by the yoonta, then two years; and if yet this does not go down well with them, leading to their outright refusal and stiff-neckedness, then indulge them with their three miracles, (aftercall, three years is but three seconds), which they hope to perform signs and wonders, thereby returning the glory of Niger Republic that hitherto was lost by Mohamed Bazoum and his ilk – especially his predecessors.
So, whilst the Nigerian troubadours and their boss, Amoda, the headline chaser just to divert attention, and all the world wait for the arrival of the Tchianian three magic years to arrive, hoping from their own perspective, the year of miracles as Nigeria’s former year 2000, when one government after another told the Nigerian people they would ensure Kulifindu mountain, where everything is free, would be relocated to Nigeria, and all the Nigerian problems and needs would be met, Oga Bazoum can choose to relocate to Daura to meet his cousin and friend since no body in Nigeria has yet shout out BBB from the crowd or choose any other country in Africa, and certainly not France to relocate to, as Macron/West, considering a peaceful resolution a slap would plot and mobilize from France or any part of the West to exterminate Tchiani and his key loyalists for the return of Bazoum to Government House in Niamey to serve France/Western interest once more, instead of Russia, whose interest Tchiani and his men are serving.
And whatever period is agreed to by all concerned, both Tchiani and Bazoum can face each other in an election, and by then, it is expected that Tchiani would have dropped his Khaki to contest for the post of President as a civilian, but certainly not whilst yet wearing khaki!
Need I remind my African brothers and sisters that if Africa does not finish Putin’s Russia and their Wagner Group, Putin’s Russia and Wagner Group will finish Africa?

In the past it was said whilst the missionaries handed the Bible to the Africans, told them to close their eyes for a prayer session, and whilst they were chorusing “Holy…” to the prayer of the missionaries for them - who were regurgitating to them: O’ Lord our Heavenly Father…” with the Africans responding, shaking, clapping and verbalizing: “Holy, holy, holy, holy…”, trucks were loading Africa’s resources to the sea – just as the Arabs on their own, handed the Koran, beads and the sword – and told the Africans, use these two to pray 24/7, and the sword, you must use it to slaughter yourselves, rather slaughters all kafirs, snatch all their ancestral lands and keep for us as Muslims Land and ensure you come over for the usual tourism as many times thou can, and ensure you bring all your money/resources.
As evident above, despite all these, there are still sick Europeans/Westerners, Americans, Asians and Russians out there mouthing excitedly in ignorance that Africa has not contributed anything to civilization: Let therefore, all those who still hold onto this ignorant and stupid views be told that Africa is not only the pioneer of civilization, agriculture as is known today, technology as is known today, but the home/mother land of/for all humanity.

I began my journalism and writing careers as both a college journalist and a budding writer in 1977 at the Great Aladura Comprehensive High School, Anthony Village, Lagos, Nigeria, in addition to being trained at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Ife, Nigeria as a literary critic and scholar, between 1985 and 1989. Therefore, these long years of practising journalism and writing automatically qualify me as a veteran journalist as well as an established writer, more so, a published author, whose latest work is titled: Be a Beacon of Hope in the World: A Message to Young Britain.
Also, by these long years in the journalism profession, I’m able to discern when something is not right in a news item of whatever platform, be it the conventional or the social media. Both early morning and afternoon of Monday the 7th of August 2023, having been waiting very anxiously for the result of the match between Nigeria’s Super Falcons and England’s Lionesses, although not a soccer enthusiast, in between my very busy schedules, I was on and off my favourite Channel, Sky, but instinctually as the result after the result had been announced, I sensed something was not right as after they had told the viewers the result of the match, they merely concentrated on the interviews their Correspondents had in Brisbane with England fans.
So, I began asking myself: “Why are they showing just the interviews with the fans and not the actual scenes of the match?”
Also, in the philosophical realm, I was asking, “Is Sky not willing to show the Nigerian players because everybody was praising them and concluding that the Nigerian players gave a very good account of their soccer dexterity.
As the reader would bear me witness, the Western Media generally, hardly report anything positive about Nigeria, and by extension, continental Africa – “is this then the reason Sky is not showing the scenes of the match?” I had again asked myself.
Having no answer to offer myself, I afterward left my residence for a walk as is customary of me to do, at exactly 17:-00 UK time, and came in at exactly 20:00, UK time.
Taking my seat, I said a short prayer and then switched on my TV to Channel 233. Lo, and behold, on there, was a snapshot of the very ugly, barbaric, and bestial scenes, where whatever be her name – Lauren James aggressively and bestially stamped on the back of Ms Michelle Alozie. But did she think the civilized world would applaud her jungle-like bestiality?
Expectedly I screamed out: “Why(?)!” “Why? (!)” “Why? (!).
Whilst waiting for the full story, I quickly raced back ‘home’ – to see how Nigerian newspapers have reported those scenes, but not surprising, in all the papers I had checked – The Guardian, where I had worked and shone as a Staff Reporter, The Punch, where I had also worked, Vanguard, The Cable, Sahara Reporters, The Daily Post, none has reported the Laurenian or the Jamesian bestiality or brutishness or aggression/violence.
Excepting, The Guardian, the other papers mentioned above, had no story on the Match between the Falcons and the Lionesses, unless the story was tucked somewhere on the Sports page.
As an enthusiastic and a close watcher of the media in Nigeria, I can confirm that the news gathering business of the media in Nigeria is still pre-historic in nature, and to put it very mildly, analogic!
The rapidity or the lightning speed with which Western media change news items 24/7 in the Internet Age is totally lacking amongst the media in Nigeria. Yet, in passing this verdict on my colleagues back home, I must say that with all sense of responsibility, I arrive at this conclusion, taking cognizance of all the constraints that they often do face 24/7, in comparison with their Western media counterparts, including non-payment of salaries, which has made many a journalist in Nigeria compromised themselves - doing cattle egrets, MORE BLESSINGS SAH (!) and political attachments.
But can any editor in that country worth their salt issue written queries to their reporters/correspondents why they were all far, far behind in reporting the ongoing FIFA Female World Cup Tournament in Brisbane like their counterparts in the West as in the Age of the Internet – 24/7 news coverage era, news outlets/sources have widened and expanded beyond any human imagination?
And regarding Ms James, firstly, I have so many things to say to her, but I will hold back because I belong to the two great Countries – Nigeria and Great Britain, and I have come to see my self over the years as an ambassador for the two great nations.
But why did Ms James do that which she did to her own very natural sister, the Atlantic, notwithstanding?
Some people have explained her barbarism as the result of fatigue or stress and frustration, but does not wisdom counsel self-restraint and circumspection during the heat - the frustration of the moment?
Secondly, because of her age as in my roots, which too unarguably, is Ms Lauren James’ roots, although, most persons of African ancestry on this side the Atlantic can go violent if you link them with their original/authentic African roots – in which case, like others of her ilk, she too is either in denial of her African roots or she has lost it for a mess of pottage like the Biblical Esau - she is still a mere child.

Fourthly, the best antidote for that bestiality of hers is not a global condemnation as such, but an invitation home to Nigeria/Africa by both Ms Michelle Alozie and ReBAT (Remi Bola Ahmed Tinubu), who like her husband is regarded by this writer as the ILLEGITIMATE FIRST LADY OF NIGERIA (IFLON) as this will reconnect Ms Omowale Lauren James to her African roots, because right now, she is a mere pendulum, hanging between the sky and the earth, but belongs to neither, just like others of her ilk, among whom are our brothers and sisters on this side of the Atlantic, who prefer bearing Asian and Western names to African names, and would never, ever have anything to do with Africa/Africans!
The purpose of the joint invite by first, Ms Michelle Alozie, and ReBAT is to give Ms James a proper home training, starting with lessons in proper manners that will make her fit into the human society – the lessons should include teaching her how to be both human and humane, so that henceforth, she will learn how to treat her fellow human beings as she would herself love to be treated, including receiving a great lesson in SELF-IDENTITY, which should be extended to every Caribbean and all persons of African descent, who never accept their AFRICAN ROOTS, AFRICAN IDENTITY OR AFRICANESS, and by so doing, ignore the eternal wisdom of Brother Peter Tosh: “No matter where you come from….”
Lastly, Lauren must learn that more than competitive religions that have over-emphasised the differences in human society, sports, and foremost, soccer, has united the world and all humanity more than anything and anyone else.
Therefore, she should always, whether in moments of anger or tranquillity, comport herself as an ambassador for peace, unity, justice, destined to spread love to every little corner of the globe, starting from her own very little corner.
Yet, the heavens will not forgive me, if I fail to ask Ms Lauren James this one question on behalf of our ancestors and posterity: WHAT STORY/INFORMATION DOES SHE HAVE ABOUT AFRICA/AFRICANS?
But will she after this ugliness, embark on a mea culpa, and enlist herself as both a beacon of light and hope for and in the world?
